June 23, 2008 - How sweet it is: Grandaisy Bakery is a big winner at
the 2008 Golden Scoop Award.
It was big night for Grandaisy at the PastryScoop.com 2008 Golden
Scoop Awards held at the French Culinary Institute in New York on June
23. Head baker, Cristobal Julio Gaurchaj, was named the winner of the
Best Bakery Recipe for his delicious pane sette grani (seven grain bread).
Also former bakery employee Catrine Oscarson, now the pastry chef at
Mas (farmhouse), won Best Dessert Revival for her rhubarb crumble.
Grandaisy Bakery owner, Monica Von Thun Calderon, was on hand at the
ceremony and was delighted to watch as two of the five awards given
out that evening went to members of the Grandaisy Bakery family.
Congratulations to Cristobal and Catrine! We are very proud of you both!
